The Tree-Planting Project

Every year, many gardeners, having become comfortable with flowers and small plants, undertake the task of planting a tree for the first time. A tree provides more long-term benefits than do simple annual or perennial plants; but it also requires more forethought and care.

This project provides basic information on how to plant a tree, from an initial assessment of your site, through the actual choice of tree and the first days of care. Overall, the project involves the following steps:

  1. Selection
  2. Preparation
  3. Planting
  4. Initial care
